Opti-K™

What is Opti-K™?

Opti-K™ is a groundbreaking, noninvasive laser-based procedure designed to address near vision issues caused by presbyopia, hyperopia, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). In just three painless seconds per eye, Opti-K™ offers a repeatable, cost-effective alternative to traditional eyeglasses, contact lenses, and invasive procedures like Intraocular Lenses, and LASIK.

The Procedure

VIS Optimal Keratoplasty (Opti-K™) is performed outside the visual zone (where you actually “see”). Using two concentric rings of laser energy delivered outside the visual zone of the eye, Opti-K™ applies mild heat in 16 spots to change the shape of the cornea. Opti-K™ is minimally invasive — no tissue is cut or removed.

Are You a Candidate?

If you are age 40 or older and you depend on glasses or contact lenses for reading, this procedure may be of benefit to you.
You’ll need to schedule an appointment with a study site eye care professional for a complete eye evaluation.

The purpose of this evaluation is to test your vision, both near and far to pinpoint your needs. An evaluation is required to determine the cause of your poor vision. Once a diagnosis has been made, a recommendation will follow as to whether the VIS Optimal Keratoplasty (Opti-K™) System is the right choice for you.
