Dr. Maryam Taheri-Shirazi MD
General, Low Vision, Cataract & Refractive Surgeon
Dr. Taheri-Shirazi is board-certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). She holds a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery and has performed numerous Cataract, LASIK, PRK, and PKP procedures. She also ran a clinic in her home country, which served as a center for a variety of surgical procedures.

Dr. Taheri-Shirazi completed an additional fellowship in Low Vision Rehabilitation at the University of Toronto, where she worked at Toronto Western Hospital (TWH) and the CNIB. During this time, she was involved in pioneering research to introduce biofeedback therapy for low vision patients, aiming to enhance their quality of life.
Currently, Dr. Taheri-Shirazi leads the Low Vision Department at Clarity Eye. She has introduced Opti-K—a corneal laser procedure designed to redirect light to healthier areas of the retina in patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD). She also offers a range of assistive devices tailored to meet the individual needs of patients with low vision.
