Dr. Jason Kwok MD FRCSC

Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Cataract Surgery  

Dr. Jason Kwok is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at the University of Toronto where he served as the chief resident. Throughout his training, Dr. Kwok was recognized for his excellence in patient and clinical care. He was the recipient of many prestigious awards including but not limited to the John Speakman Award (best surgical resident at Sunnybrook Hospital), the Hurwitz-Vaile Sinai Health Award (best surgical resident at Mount Sinai Hospital), the Duncan M. Jamieson Award (resident with the highest academic standing at the University of Toronto), and the ASCRS Residence Excellence Award, which is awarded annually to 10 ophthalmology residents in North America who excel in patient care, research, and medical education.  

Dr. Kwok has a strong interest in cataract surgery and has extensive surgical experience with complex cataract cases. He is an innovator in cataract surgery, having helped create a new surgical technique in tackling intumescent cataracts. He also helped develop artificial intelligence tools to enhance learning in cataract surgery.

In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Kwok is actively involved in medical education at the University of Toronto where he currently serves as a faculty member. He is the creator of www.OCTcases.com, a medical education website on optical coherence tomography (OCT), the main imaging modality used in diagnosis of retinal disease.
