Dr. Jenny Qian MD FRCSC

Comprehensive Ophthalmology & Cataract Surgery

Dr. Jenny Qian is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon. She completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science at the University of Toronto. Dr. Qian then completed her medical degree, followed by a two-year research fellowship in retina, at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University. During this time, she was awarded numerous grants and awards, including the Hamilton Regional Eye Institute Innovation Award of the Year. Dr. Qian returned to the University of Toronto for her residency in ophthalmology. Her clinical proficiency and commitment to patients have been recognized through several accolades, such as the Hurwitz-Vaile Sinai Health Resident Award for excellence in ophthalmic surgery, compassionate patient care, global health and mentorship.

Dr. Qian is also on staff at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she enjoys working with medical learners. She serves as a mentor and role model to residents and medical students, being awarded the Scottie McKay Award for her “commitment to hard work, teaching, altruism, and for exemplifying the qualities of a physician others strive to emulate”. Dr. Qian has also received the University of Toronto MD Program Teaching Award for Excellence.

 

Dr. Jenny Qian is passionate about providing excellent and well-rounded patient-focused care for all her patients. In addition, her engineering background fuels her interest in biomedical technology and device design, and Dr. Qian integrates this knowledge into her medical practice to optimize patient care.
